Further to the promotion of Alex Standen within the coaching team, Carl takes on the leading role in providing performance coaching for skiers from Development up to and including members of the British Nordic Youth Squad.  Carl will coordinate a small group of coaches and work closely with Roy Young and Alex Standen to develop talented athletes.

Carl served a 22 year career in the RAF and combined an international racing career in biathlon, with training numerous athletes in nordic and biathlon within the service.  Ultimately, Carl was appointed as RAF Biathlon and Nordic Ski Team Coach with the team enjoying multiple successes.

His combined experience, knowledge and skills will be a real asset to all those British skiers who are dedicated to progression to world class performances in cross-country skiing.

Commenting upon his appointment Carl said "I am delighted to have the opportunity ‎of working with British performance driven athletes and all those with an interest in developing the British Nordic Pathway. For me it’s about continuing to take the Pathway to the next level, working with enthusiastic youngsters and contributing what I’ve learned as racer, trainer and coach".

British Nordic, its partners, the home nation governing bodies and British Ski and Snowboard look forward to supporting Carl as the Pathway Coach.

Carl joins a small but very enthusiastic team of coaches to continue to take athletes to the next level of international sucess.
