British Nordic's purpose is to facilitate the long-term athlete development pathway from club athlete to national team level.  We were formulated under our present structure in 2001 to ensure that there was an opportunity for young athletes to progress into the elite level of the sport.

As a result of many years of hard work by athletes, volunteers and coaches, athletes have progressed up through the system and are now competing on the world stage.  At the top end, athletes are racing at World Cup level and have represented Team GB at the Winter Olympic Games. Building on our return to the Olympic Games in 2010, Andrew Musgrave was unlucky to miss out on a podium spot in the 30km skiathlon at PyeongChang 2018, eventually finishing 7th.
